C2C Attends National Youth Employment Coalition Forum

Cradle to Career’s Caroline Lewis attended the National Youth Employment Coalition’s 2023 Annual Forum in Indianapolis, Indiana, taking place from April 4-7. The forum brings together youth leaders, practitioners, and policymakers from across the United States who are interested in advancing the lives of Opportunity Youth and young adults.

The forum provided an opportunity for Lewis to learn national best practices, innovative ideas, advocacy strategies, and practical solutions to common challenges faced by youth leaders around the country. Lewis, a Program Manager, leads the Opportunity Youth and Post-Secondary work for our partnership, bringing together leaders from across Pima County to address the needs of young people in our community.

At the forum, Lewis was able to attend sessions focused on how data can impact reengagement strategies with Opportunity Youth, including strategies for how to improve data collection to tell a community’s full story. She also had the opportunity to engage in discussions about integrating trauma-informed care into workforce systems that are serving young people with disabilities.

“It was so inspiring to see what other organizations are doing across the country around equitable, trauma-informed, cross-sector workforce development,” Lewis said. “I can’t wait to share my new knowledge with C2C partners in Pima County so we can continue the work towards thriving futures for all of our young people.”
