C2C Celebrates the End of the School Year with Marana Early Grade Literacy Teams

On May 8th the Cradle to Career Partnership welcomed educators from the Marana Unified School District (MUSD) to celebrate the end of the school year and the achievements of these early grade reading teachers. Thirty educators were in attendance for the event and were welcomed by C2C staff and special guests from United Way, including Allison Titcomb, Chief Impact Officer.
Nineteen of the educators were also honored for “graduating” from C2C after completing their second school year of professional development and continuous improvement led by C2C staff. These educators are now Leaders in Literacy and have the knowledge and tools to lead their continuous improvement work next school year.
Throughout this school year, C2C met monthly with educators to develop and implement strategies to increase student achievement in reading, as well as provide professional development for the participating educators.
C2C’s ongoing work with MUSD has resulted in district-wide shifts in practice that have impacted 3,378 students and 146 teachers.
