Collaboration and Community Outreach to Promote Youth Resource Platform

The Post-Secondary Change Networks and Youth on the Rise have been collaborating on community outreach efforts to promote the new Youth Resource Platform and the Post-Secondary resources that are available. This outreach is a part of C2C’s overall efforts to increase family and community engagement in our work to move towards co-developing solutions for young people in Pima County.
On September 27th, Backbone Team members Caroline and Denisse attended Tucson Unified School District’s AVID (Advance Via Individual Determination) Family Night as part of our existing partnership with AVID to increase authentic family engagement. During the event, C2C was able to provide information about mental health resources available in the community, as well as walk attendees through the new Youth Resource Platform. The event also provided an opportunity to get feedback from students and their families about the types of resources on the platform that resonate with them, with Mentoring and Transportation drawing significant interest. The event drew 232 attendees, with 115 parents and 117 students.
On October 7th, Denisse and Caroline also attended and event at Pima Community College to speak with advisors and other staff about our Partnership’s work with Opportunity Youth. The event provided an opportunity to highlight how C2C utilizes data to develop solutions with our partners and the importance of utilizing disaggregated data to get the full picture of the needs of young people in Pima County. Denisse and Caroline then facilitated a discussion around data and the Youth Resource Platform and provided attendees information on how to become a provider on the platform. There were 98 Pima Community College staff members in attendance.
The Youth Resource Platform features several community resources to help young people with high school, GED, and post-secondary education assistance. To learn more, visit yotr.org.
