Increasing Aligned Contributions for Post-Secondary Success

With resources received as part of StriveTogether’s Challenge Grant, Cradle to Career’s Post-Secondary Change Networks are taking action to accelerate the elimination of opportunity gaps for Black, Latinx, and Indigenous youth.
Partners worked collaboratively to prioritize areas of high alignment and high impact. First, they identified systemic barriers to awareness and access to existing post-secondary resources for students and their families, particularly for students who historically have had limited opportunity to utilize them. Changing practices to ensure students have the knowledge and guidance to choose the most appropriate math pathways as they work towards their education and career goals was also prioritized.
In alignment with the Change Networks’ priorities, C2C is providing resources and technical assistance to five partner organizations to test and shift practices that create systems that equitably serve all youth:
- Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), Tucson Unified School District
- Dual Enrollment, Pima Community College
- Joint Technical Education District (JTED)
- Scholarships A-Z
- Tucson Regional Educators Collaborative (TREC), University of Arizona
Not only are these continuous improvement projects meeting the immediate needs of youth, students, and educators, but learnings will also inform system-level action towards eliminating disparities, including how to equitably redistribute resources.
